First Haircut

Yes, I know Carter is only 8 months old.
And he doesn't have much hair to speak of.

But a first haircut is a once-in-a-lifetime experience
and we thought what better place for a lasting memory than
right on Mainstreet, at Disney's Harmony Barbershop?!
So that's exactly what we did.  And Mommy took lots of pictures.
Carter fell asleep on the ferry ride to Magic Kingdom
and woke up just in time for his haircut.
Once inside, Carter loved smiling at all the people
and he was fascinated by the ceiling fan

Then it was time for his haircut.
He wasn't so sure at first.

But after some reassurance from his barber,
quite a few Mickey Mouse stickers,

fun toys, comfort from dad,
and that wonderful ceiling fan,

 things were looking better.

Until the dreaded clippers came out.
Carter didn't like the looks of those.

 Or the sound of them.

And he definitely didn't like the feel of them on his little neck.

So here is when Mommy "called it" and said haircut OVER!

His barber gave Carter some new Mickey ears as a peace offering.

And Carter cautiously accepted.

Then he checked himself out in the big mirror.

And the little mirror.

And got some cuddles from a guilty Mommy

who was feeling terrible about the crying

until Carter cheered her up with his awesome smile.

Our big boy earned a Certificate of Bravery for his
mostly cheerful attitude throughout the process.
Then Grandma took him outside to see the barber pole.

And we all headed back down Mainstreet,

towards the beautiful castle,

and the rest of our MAGICAL day!

Linking up with Sunday Snapshot at Ni Hao Y'all.

  3. So glad you had a great trip! I love the picture of Carter and Michael in front of the castle!! So cute !!!
I wish we lived closer so we could all hang out! That would be fun.
If you do plan a trip to our zoo we would love to meet you. It is a great zoo - we have passes we go so much!
It's nice to have it so close :)
Carter looks so sad in some of those hair cut pix- I can't believe they would use clippers on a little guy his age. They are scary and noisy. It looks like he recovered well. It's so cute to get the certificate and ears. I bet a mirror would be a great bday gift for him!
    Take care !

  4. LOVE THIS!! Pretty cool to have Mickey ears with "My First Haircut" on them! He looks like he was a brace little guy:) I think we are going to do Jack's 1st haircut on/right around his 1st birthday...I have trimmed a bit - but he needs a professional one!! Can't wait to see the rest of the pictures from your trip!
