7 months old

This has been the best month ever.
Carter is so much fun that Michael and I mention
at least once a day that we can't imagine any age being
better than this.  He is so happy and smiley and interactive
now that it's difficult to even walk away from him.

And when he reaches out his little arms to be picked up, I can't refuse.
He almost always thanks me with a huge hug and my heart just overflows.

We simply could not love this child more,
even with the disrupted sleep and occasional crabbiness.

Life is so much easier now that Carter can play independently and communicate what he needs.  Often it's just a hug and a couple minutes of cuddling and then he's ready to play by himself again.  We all (even the dog) spend lots of time each day hanging out on the living room floor together with Carter's toys.

January has been a busy month.  Carter was baptized on Sunday, and we had a large reception afterwards, plus we had out of town guests staying with us this weekend.  I'm late with this post, but the pictures were taken last Tuesday, on his actual 7-month birthday.

Here are a few images from our little photo session:

Why all the sideways shots?

Well, Carter finally discovered just how soft and fluffy
the faux fur is on his chair and he began a bit of a love affair
with the arm.

After feeling it and giving it a "hug", all Carter wanted to do was THIS:

Again and again.

We tried turning him to face forward a number of times, but he was obsessed with that "fur".

Eventually he got himself turned completely around,
so I gave up and decided to work with what we had.

That's our silly boy.  He can be a real stinker at times.

Happy 7 month birthday, Carter Maxwell.

Mommy and Daddy love you more than anything!
(And I'm pretty sure you know it.)

Linking up late again with Sunday Snapshot at Ni Hao Y'all.

  1. I love that Carters' likes far out way his dislikes!
He is getting SO big and as always he's so adorable.
A little advice: pears and pear juice are the equalizer to the constipation thing, we promise. We went on a pear juice hunt in China - not fun but it works. TMI??!! Hehe
Love the pix and that sweet sweet smile , melts my heart. He'll be hard to say no to!
