Boo at the Zoo

We were on the fence about attending
Boo at the Zoo this year, but we couldn't
pass up the beautiful weather last weekend.

We got to the zoo a little early and had a chance
to visit some animals before the crowds arrived.

Our sweet little neighbor came with us!

Then we went back to the car
to change into our costumes.

I dressed Carter first,

and let him play in the back of the van
while the rest of us put our costumes on.

Michael was nice enough to take some pictures
of Carter and me before we went back in.

Monkey kisses!

Carter had never seen a hat on me!

Since I'm usually the one behind the camera,
it'll be nice to have some pictures to show Carter
in the future so he knows that I was there, too!

We already had our doctor costumes for Halloween,
but for Boo at the Zoo, we made Carter a veterinarian

Once we were inside the zoo, it got harder to take pictures.

There were crowds, of course,

and all Carter wanted to do was run!

So we have pictures of him pouting in his stroller...

Seriously, Mom?  I'm a DOCTOR!  You're going to make me sit in a stroller?!

...and pictures of him RUNNING!!!

Plus a couple of him with his
trick-or-treat/medical bag.

Between his costume and his antics,
Carter drew a lot of attention.

People were cracking up watching him.

We would just shrug and say something
funny about him being late for surgery or
an emergency at the primate building!

I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date!

The kid was seriously out of control.

We're pretty sure Carter thought
these guys might be real animals.

He just kept looking from one to the other like he wasn't quite sure about them.

Somebody offered to take a family picture for us!

It was hard to get good pictures in the dark

and Carter wouldn't stand still all night,

Headed to another monkey house emergency???

but we all had a great time attending
our family's very first Boo at the Zoo!

  2. Hi Carrie -
How fun! It looks like a perfect fall night. It's great to see pix of you!
Carter is an adorable vet. Once they get the hang of running - watch out! They are off and running all of the time.
Carters medical bag for a trick or treat bag is a great idea. And how cute is your little neighbor for going with you guys!
It looks like we are going to have a good week for Halloween this year. Hope you guys do too.
