4th of July Weekend

I looked through my pictures and found some from last 4th of July.

It was Carter's actual due date and we had
officially been parents for almost three weeks.

Carter was helpless and TINY and
we had no idea what we were doing.

Did he know how clueless I was?

Somehow we figured it out and we all made it to
this 4th of July - with a walking, talking,
super fun little boy!

Michael had some yard work to get done on Friday,
so Carter, Molly and I joined him outside.

For a while Carter was happy to play on his blanket.

.
Peek-a-boo, Molly-Moo!

But as he gets more used to the grass,
he is becoming more likely to wander off.

Especially when he sees Daddy across the yard.

Since he was so interested in Michael's yard work,
I brought out Carter's new lawnmower
(Thank you, Aunt Susie!).

He was all over the yard with that thing.

He took his "job" very seriously.

Back and forth, back and forth, across the whole lawn.

I couldn't even get him to stop for a smile.

Carter really did seem to think he was
"mowing the lawn," just like his daddy.

He was so serious about the lawn mowing,

but he must have liked it because he wouldn't stop!

Molly enjoyed some shade by the garden arbor,

where the Clematis is finally starting to grow!

For years we got almost no blooms, but this year we got bunches!

In the front yard, our Annabelle Hydrangeas are blooming.
Every 4th of July, like clockwork!

Carter posed in front of them for some pictures in his new truck.

Some of the blooms are as big as his head!

Then we took him for a spin around the neighborhood
(to show off his new wheels).

Carter was pretty excited!

Look out ahead!

Carter isn't a very good driver yet...

Just kidding!

Carter loves his new truck.
Thank you, Aunt Susan!

Hope you had a safe,

relaxing...

and FUN 4th of July weekend!
